I love the name Kennedy! so cute!

Would you consider this a boys name, girls name, or unisex?

Rowen.

Boy/girl/unisex?

Would you consider this a boys name, girls name, or unisex?
LOVE the name

I prefer Rowan

I like it for both boys %26amp; girls...if I HAD to pcik, I would say better for a girl, but love it for both.

= )
Reply:I prefer the spelling Rowan as that's how the tree name is spelt. My little boys middle name is Rowan although I see it as a unisex name.

I wanted it as his first name but it didn't fit that way round with the other name we had picked for him - Brock. So we swapped it round and went with Brock Rowan and it suits him perfectly, bad tempered little badger!

Edit: thumbs down for what?! should i have consulted the person on my childs name first? how odd.
Reply:All boy. It's masculine and wonderful for a boy and a man. Horrid for a little girl. Nothing feminine, girly, or unisex about it.

I also prefer the correct spelling, Rowan. And no, changing the spelling doesn't make it girly, feminine, or unisex.
Reply:It is definitely a unisex name. I know both girls and boys with the name. I think the trends are pulling it towards a female name because boys-as-girls-names are in right now, but it is still masculine enough to be a boys name.
Reply:Unisex.

I'm a big fan of using unisex names. I love Rowan for a girl and Rowen for a boy. The a just seems more feminine to me.
Reply:I suppose it would be unisex. It is a name that can be either more masculine or feminine depending on the full name, or the use of a gender definitive name.

i.e.

James Rowan

Rowen Camille
Reply:Traditionally, it is male. But, it sounds like it could easily pass for unisex.
Reply:I think it's unisex.

Personally I think Rowen looks more feminine than Rowan.

x
Reply:Boy.

Maybe with the spelling Rowan you could get away with using it for a girl, but it sounds very masculine to me! But then at one point Taylor and Jordan and Jaden were all boy names too!
Reply:It's definately a boy name, and I like it spelled Rowan. I think this such an adorable name. I love it!!!
Reply:I would consider it unisex.
Reply:Unisex, but masculine.

I prefer it on boys.

%26lt;3
Reply:My gut says boy, but Brooke Shields has a daughter named Rowen so then I think it's a girl name. So I guess it could go either way!
Reply:It's unisex.
Reply:Boy name totally.
Reply:Rowan - Girl

Rowen - Boy

Unisex name
Reply:unisex.
Reply:I say unisex...more girly with an "a", more boyish with an "e"
Reply:unisex
Reply:I would say boy. There is a popular name Madison - really unisex...
Reply:i say unisex. but you could add an A to the end for a girl to make it more feminine.
Reply:Rowan is a total boy name ... very masculine.
Reply:i say unisex
Reply:Probably unisex. I like it more for a boy.
Reply:Very unisex

I think I like it more for a boy it reminds me of Owen
Reply:Unisex but maybe a bit more suited for a boy
Reply:boy as is Roman, Ronan
Reply:Boys name
Reply:Boy
Reply:Boy
Reply:if you dont know if a name is for a boy or girl, you shouldnt name your child that. That is, unless you want them to be a tranny or have a tormented childhood

christmas cactus

Would Viper be a girls or boys name?

I'm trying to name a assassin class for Age of Conan and i was thinking about Viper for his name but when i started thinking about it Viper sounds more like a girl name so i could use some opinions about this name. Thanks in advance!

Would Viper be a girls or boys name?
Viper works for both.

Cobra is a mans name

mamba works for a women
Reply:Viper is a bit powerful name. It like fast and agile. Its both boy and girl. Its powerful boy or dangerous girl.
Reply:Since when is viper a girls name?
Reply:Girls if you wanna go with a snake name try cobra

What do you think of the name Slater for a boys name?

I instantly think of Saved By The Bell

What do you think of the name Slater for a boys name?
I think of A.C. Slater.
Reply:a.c slater....
Reply:It's ok I wouldn't choose it. but it's your baby
Reply:I think somebody watched too much saved by the bell :) I don't think it is horrible, but its not great either.
Reply:Saved by the Bell. No!
Reply:its ok, but wouldn't be my choice....
Reply:Makes me think of the stoner from "Dazed and Confused."
Reply:it reminds me of slaughter, sorry.
Reply:Slater is a last name...not a first name. The fad of naming babies last names for first names needs to go away and never come back.
Reply:it's ok, but all i think of is a muscle hunk on saved by the bell. If u were a fan though, go for it!
Reply:I like it. It's like Tiler, Tailor, Tinker and Baker only different.
Reply:It's OK. I don't like it that much but I don't hate it either.
Reply:That sounds cool. Remember, it needs to sound good with his last name too.

What do you think of the name Ryland for a boys name?

Not really. Stick with Ryan.

What do you think of the name Ryland for a boys name?
LOVE LOVE LOVE it. I personally like Rylan better but they sound basically the same.
Reply:i had a friend who named her little boy (RYLAN) they took the D off it as were they live is a shop called RYLAND's Place. So yeah, but i like that name. good luck
Reply:i like that name:]
Reply:I think it's a great name.
Reply:I think I would like it more without the d at the end. Rylan
Reply:Sounds pretty cool, different maybe a little made up but so were they all at some point. The only association I can think of is a large home builder that is active in the South.
Reply:i havent heard it before! so thats plus! make sure the middle name fits with it!

Want a unique Girls and Boys name?

So I am looking for a name for both boy and girl that are not popular. I don't want them to be super off the wall though (ie, no Apple, Moses, or Peekaboo). I LOVE guys names for girls, I also like names that don't have stupid nicknames. HELP?

You re able to type in an "inspiration" name (up to six) and it will generate dozens of names with the same "style" and "feel" as that one.

Behind the name.com is a great site you can check the history of a name as well as popularity. There is also an "advanced" name search that allows you to check related names as well as comments regarding that particular name.

Good luck and congratulations to you both.
