To me, Payton is a boys name I know of 2 with the name no girls at all. Recently I was on a birth club online and saw a few girls named Payton. I find it not a very feminine name, so I was just wondering where others stood.....
Would you consider Payton a boys name or girls?
My son's name is Payton. I too have never met a girl with the name, but have heard of them. In my opinion it is ALL BOY!!!
There are too many girls with Masculine names, I don't know why parents do that, but they do, I guess maybe just hoping for a boy, but getting a girl! Did you know McKenzie used to be only a boys name, just like taylor, Cameron and Jordan.
Reply:I think girl when I hear that name.
Reply:I love the name Peyton for a girl. Its so pretty. though my answer could be sort of biased considering I'm a total One Tree Hill freak and one of my favorite characters is named Peyton. I think its great.
Reply:I think it sounds more girly than masculine. Naming my son Peyton would be like naming him Mackenzie.
Reply:boy! definitely a boy...
Reply:Peyton is one of those boy turned girl names that is quickly gaining popularity, we just recently gave birth to a baby girl 2 weeks ago..and her name is Peyton, I find it more feminine to spell it that way, in fact, so far the only children I've found named peyton have been girls, other than Peyton Manning..which is where we got the name from. other names that use to be boys names and are now mostly only thought of as girl names...
madison
lynsey
morgan
kelley
jessi
jamie
alex
jordan
just to name a few
Reply:It's a unisex name, but I have heard only girls with that name.
Reply:either... just like Taylor, which I like for a boy...but there are so many girl Taylors
Reply:It is both. I know a boy named Payton, and a girl named Peyton. I think the spelling is the only difference because you pronounce it the same way as the other one.
Reply:I have a nefew named Payton or Peyton..it can be used for both girls and boys really. If it is a name you really like...go for it!
Reply:I think it doesn't sounds feminine enough for a girl either.
Reply:i think Payton is a unisex name. usually if its a boy its spelled Peyton and and if its a girl its spelled Payton.
Reply:BOY
Reply:I think that it sounds more masculine than feminine. I don't really care much for the name, but I'd sooner give it to a boy than a girl. I just don't think it sounds right for a girl.
Reply:I am 27 and all of the Payton/Peytons that I know are male. however it has recently switched over to more of a girls name. It is hard for me to decide which gender I like it more on since it is now common for both.
Personally, I am not a fan of it for either gender.
Reply:It's one of those Unisex names .
I am not a fan of the name but I find it more feminine sounding then masculine. I personally would not name my son Payton
Reply:I would imagine girl (but just because this young actress from "heroes" :-))
Reply:i like peyton as a girl's name. the only one i know of is the character from the tv show one tree hill, that may be where it is coming from. i it can go either way. it sounds neither masculine nor feminine. i like it!
Reply:I consider it a girls name..
Reply:I see it as more of a boy name but I think it's awful either way. I don't think it has a pleasant sound at all.
Reply:payton is a unisex name ... obviously ON... can go both ways...however, if you name a boy payton he will most likely get beat up a lot... made fun of.... and may even turn gay later in life. I would recommend not naming a boy payton unless you are cruel and looking for a good laugh later in life
Reply:I see it more for a girl.
Reply:I know a girl and a boy named peyton spelled this way.
I think its used about equal for both. my baby book has it listed as both.
I want to name one of my daughtesr skylar which is for both, I also like Parker and Emerson for a girl but i dont like them as much for a boy for some reason.
Reply:boy
Reply:Payton is definately a girl in Texas.
Reply:i consider it both.
