Can i give my baby girl a boys middle name?
the name doesn't sound bad at all. you can name your kid whatever you'd like. im naming my daughter peyton, people say its a boys name but its also a girls name 2. so Kaydie Ellis-Martin sounds beautiful to me. and its very unique.. congrats btw!!

Reply:Sounds fine to me. Better to have a unique name than a common one in my opinion.

There's no rules -- Do what you want
Reply:i would leave it at kaydie ellis....sounds nice
Reply:sounds fine to me : ]
Reply:You can name your children how you please, just remember tha they have to live with it for life.
Reply:Hmm. I don't know. It might work. If I were you, I would imagine what it would be like if you had a boy's middle name whilst growing up and see if you would have liked it. If you would have, personally, then that would hopefully clear up the situation a bit.

Hope this helps.
Reply:You can call your baby anything you like.I mean people call them after fruit and seasons so why not!
Reply:Very nice and modern. The Ellis-Martin part balances the Kaydie part :)
Reply:You can give your baby girl a boy's name for her middle name, but the name Martin just sounds like a surname. It doesn't really fit, for example I know this girl from school and her mother's name is Kristy and her father's name is Joe so they named her Kristy Joe. Also, the Spears family the younger daughter's name is Jaime Lynn, her father's name is Jamie and the mother's name is Lynn. I hope that helps best of luck to you in picking a name :)
Reply:i love it!

great choice!
Reply:It doesn't sound that bad to me. Ellis can be unisex anyway - even if more boys use it than girls.

If you get too worried about it being 'boyish' you could change it to Elise - Martine but I think ellis martin is probably better anyway.

after all its not her first name.
Reply:Anything's gotta be better than what my baby's daddy came up with... say this out loud and alittle fast... Justin Credible.....

yes, i know, men....
Reply:Sounds cute!!
Reply:The names chosen have a dignity which your daughter (or son) will appreciate in their adult life.
Reply:I wouldn't hyphenate the middle names, if I'm reading that correctly, but Ellis isn't at all unheard of for a girl -- you might also like classically unisex Ellery or Hollis, by the way -- and assuming you don't already have a double-barreled surname (hyphenated or otherwise), even Martin wouldn't seem too odd as a second middle name, since many will likely assume it a family surname in that position. ;)

I would, however, use one clearly-feminine name in such an instance, and I'm not quite sure what to make of "Kaydie." Given the popularity of similar masculine Cade and Caden (often misspelled Kade, Kayde, Kaydin, Kaden, etc.), however, I'd think many would find this to be a rather boyish name in full, I'm afraid.

If you meant it to be a "creative" spelling of the nickname Katie, perhaps try simply Kate, Katherine, Katarina or even Katya Ellis Martin Surname. You can still call her Katie, but it's far more formal and gender-specific, giving her the option to use either should she ever want (which is never a bad thing!). ;)

ETA: Just saw that Ellis and Martin ARE family surnames here, and in that case, I wouldn't hesitate to use them (though again, dropping the hyphenation and possibly using a more formal feminine first name). ;) A wonderful way to carry on the family names! You might even consider related Ellison as a first name (and given its similarity to feminine Allison, not as problematic as "Kaydie" as far as gender issues are concerned). http://surnames.behindthename.com/php/se... Just a thought!

Love Callum Ellis Martin, by the way! Very handsome. ;)
Reply:Dont feel bad about this, I know many people that have male names for middle names!
Reply:sounds great
Reply:I think Ellis is a beautiful name ,and would not say it is primarily a boys name. It's fine for both.

Go for it ,I like it alot.:)
Reply:That sounds good together.
Reply:i think what you are doing with the name is a great idea.

and the name Kaydie Ellis-Martin is sweet.

good luck

Reply:Why hyphenate Ellis-Martin. Why not just have three names? Or drop the Kaydie!
Reply:the martin part sounds like a surname.
Reply:That's ok, my children both have my surname as second middle names (I am the last of the L......s) Middle names can be mentioned or not....
Reply:I think it sounds very nice. In honor of your mom, I say do it.
Reply:I think it is fine. Both my middle names are boy names. Well one is and the other is my mom's maiden name.
Reply:theres nothing wrong with that name my sister inlaw put christopher as a middle name.
Reply:You can call your child wahtever you like, just remember that other kids will be mean at school, that's just life, but you have chosen a pretty name, no need to worry!
Reply:What about Kaydie Ellie Martini

Kaydie Eleanor Marie
Reply:I think it's a great idea. My girl cousin has a boy middle name.
Reply:not keen, Kaydie is not a very feminine name itself so think you would be better off having a middle name more girly

like

Kaydie Ellen or Ella

Kaydie Victoria
Reply:why not just use ellis as a first name? i think it's a beautiful name that can be for either a girl or a boy. martin is a great middle name- people will assume its a family name before anything else. just remember the whole first grade "what's your middle name" conversation at recess.. that one may not be a fun one for her. (if its indeed a her) either way, it's your baby and you can call it whatever you like.

i feel funny calling your baby an "it"...

sorry.

:]
