The name Adrian - Does it sound like a boys name or girls name?

What do you think? Do you know anybody with this name? And how would you spell it?

The name Adrian - Does it sound like a boys name or girls name?
Hello! I have known one boy and one girl with this name.

The boy was a classmate of mine in high school. He was very handsome and charismatic, and also half Puerto Rican. His name was spelled Adrian.

I also went to high school with a girl whose father was French. Her name was spelled Adrienne, which is usually the more feminine spelling.

Hope this helps!
Reply:Well, I knew an Adrienne (girl) who was a year old than me since elementary school so I always thought it was a girl's name. But then, sophmore year of high school, a guy named Adrian moved to our town. It is both, but I always thought it was more of a girl's name - just because of who I knew originally.
Reply:Adrian is the boy's name. Adrianne is the girl's name. Adriana is usually used in spanish. I knew a girl named Adriana. But it's funny because people sometimes use names like rene for a girl or boy.

P.S. I think that you're more than 38 weeks long now, maybe you should update that.
Reply:My mom is Adrienne.

My brother-in-law is Adrian.

So it can go both ways, but I prefer it as a girl's name, but that's just because to me, the name Adrienne, represents someone like my mom: beautiful, strong, courageous, loyal, loving and smart.
Reply:Boy's name, definitely.

The trend of taking boys names and turning them into girls names has got to stop! It's not like we take girls names and make them boys names, so leave them a few!

Anyway, the female form of Adrian is Adrienne, so...
Reply:I have both a guy and a girl friend with that particular name.

I like the way you have spelt it Adrian and that's how they spell it.

I really like that name and it suits both guys and girls.

=D
Reply:I was gonna name my son Adrian, but I had a girl so I named her Adriana. I love the name Adrian. I also have little cousin named Adrian, and he loves his name. Spell it just like you have it.
Reply:I agree with the first answer by Cory. Adrian for a boy, Adrienne for a girl. It's really a unisex name, it just goes by the spelling for the sex.

By the way, I love it for either! Good lucK!
Reply:Well i see it as more of a boys name, even though i have a female friend Adrienne. The spelling, sound has a more male feel to it, to me.

Reply:I knew 2 boys in elementary with that name and they spelled it Adrian.

I knew a girl in highschool and she spelled it Adrienne
Reply:I know a boy and a girl with this name. It just depends how you spell it. Girl Spelling is like Adrienne and Boy Spelling is like Adrian. Hope this helps!
